Every year Inspire Me Baby asks photographers to submit their best photo of the year. The goal is to celebrate how much we’ve improved, learn from other photographers and see what makes an image so wonderful to them. I don’t really know if this is my best photo of the year — it would take way too long to look through everything and then I would probably second guess myself and waste a lot of time that I don’t have. But when I think about photos that make me smile, this one is Top 5 for sure. It was storming the day of the circus and I almost didn’t take my camera with me… but I’m sure glad I did. Sadie wasn’t even two yet, and I was nervous that she wouldn’t like it. And while she did have trouble concentrating on it, there was one moment where she leaned over the railing and just looked at everything going on around her with just sheer amazement. I love the little grin on her face, the rim lighting around her hair, and the vibrant color of the photo.
Top 5 for sure…
